Why Is It Important To Strengthen The Hip Muscles
● These muscles help to support and stabilize your spine when you are walking and
performing functional activities.
● The hips and pelvis needs to be strong to help stabilize the back and rest of the body with
movement
● Having good proximal stability will help improve the mobility to the limbs distally,
reducing the risk for injury
● The following exercises are designed to target the gluteal musculature with a bridged
focus progression
Exercises

These exercises are not for everyone and should not replace professional medical advice or
treatment. You should not perform these exercises if you are experiencing back/hip pain
following a recent surgery without consulting with your physical therapist or physician
first. If you have pain in low/hip or weakness in this area, call ProTailored Physical
Therapy at (260) 739-0300 to schedule an appointment with highly trained Physical
